HERNDON, Va. July 02, 2018
Apcela, the high-performance application delivery company, today announced it has been named a U.S. market leader in Network Services (VAS) by Information Services Group (ISG), a leading global technology research and advisory firm. According to the ISG Provider Lens™ Software-Defined Networking and Services Quadrant Report, Apcela was also ranked as a “Rising Star” in both the SD-WAN Services (DIY) and Mobility 4G/5G Services and a “Product Challenger” in its Managed SD-WAN quadrants.
ISG evaluated the strategy and vision, innovation, brand awareness, sales and partner landscape, breadth and depth of portfolio and technology advancements of 43 software-defined networking and services providers serving the U.S. across seven quadrants: mobility (4G/5G) services, network services (VAS), managed SD-WAN services, managed WAN services, SD-WAN services (DIY), SD-WAN equipment and services, and SDN services.
“Apcela is an increasingly important company to many … enterprises that are looking for SD networking and NaaS,” ISG noted in the report.
In naming Apcela a market leader in Network Services, ISG noted its strengths in “high performance/low latency networks, hybrid networks, multi-cloud and SD networking, especially in allowing smooth and accelerated application use and delivery.” ISG also singled out Apcela’s NaaS-oriented products, based around its AppHUB platform and its “impressive private network ability, operating in 41 countries, with more than 60 cloud hubs.”
“We are honored to be recognized by ISG as a Leader in network services,” said Mark Casey, CEO of Apcela. “Our ranking in ISG’s Provider Lens™ Software Defined Networking & Services report is a validation of our company’s vision and our team’s innovation and dedication enabling enterprises to enhance and extend their SD-WAN capabilities across several industries.
Beyond Network Services, ISG named Apcela a “Rising Star” in SD-WAN (DIY) services and mobility (4G/5G) services. In SD-WAN (DIY) services, ISG recognized Apcela for its private network, in particular for having “strong partner deals … with cloud, service and software suppliers” to “accelerate and ensure delivery of results” for enterprises and specific industry verticals. In mobility services, ISG noted that Apcela “has become successful and achieved recognition within this segment by utilizing its NaaS-oriented products - based around its AppHUB platform - enabling mobile employees to enjoy enhanced security and innovative mobility solutions.” ISG also named Apcela a “Product Challenger” in managed SD-WAN services for offering a product and service portfolio that provides “above average coverage of corporate requirements.”
Apcela’s global, low-latency application delivery platform, AppHUB easily integrates with enterprise WANs to create secure, high-speed express lanes between enterprise data centers and applications, remote users and the cloud. The company’s SD-WAN overlays enhance, or even replace, existing MPLS or hybrid WAN networks. Furthermore, AppHUB’s distributed security platform improves performance by extending enterprises’ existing security environment and policies closer to users and cloud applications, ensuring applications are available to any user, on any device, anywhere in the world.
